Shubh Saran announces fall co-headlining tour with Sungazer

NEW YORK, NY — New York-based guitarist and composer Shubh Saran will hit the road this Fall as he plots a co-headlining tour with electrojazz duo Sungazer along the East Coast. This is the first U.S. tour for Saran and his seven-piece band, which has performed steadily in New York City for the past two years. “What’s really exciting about this tour is it’s much more than just having two bands on the bill, it’s a community of musicians,” says Saran.  “Between the nine of us on this tour that are traveling together, there are so many little bands within the nine of us.  It’s a bit of a family, so it will be really fun.”

After touring India last year, Saran found that the experience had influenced his writing in a meaningful way. “After we toured in India, that really informed my writing for the next set of songs,” he says.  “That whole tour experience kind of influenced my writing.”

September is off to an exciting start with the live video release of “Falter” feat. Hannah Sumner, off of Saran’s 2018 EP H.A.D.D., and the announcement of “Bloom” featuring and co-written by Hannah Sumner, set for release on September 16th. Additional music is planned for release throughout the fall, surrounding the November tour.

“The new music is particularly important to me,” says Saran. “The theme that runs through it is a theme of revisiting who you used to be, and then framing that against who you’ve become now.  It sort of pays tribute to the musician that I used to be as a teenager learning to play guitar, and playing for the fun of it.  This new music captures that energy, angst, and the raw passion that I had as a kid.”
